High Current Testing

Our high current test systems can produce DC or AC currents at values up to around 2000A (depending on the test object). The high current systems that we have are useful for assessing the current carrying capacity of components like connectors / cables. Our ability to test with elevated frequencies of up to 2kHz allows us to assess the impact of the skin effect on the current carrying capability of the test object.

High current tests are relatively slow to perform with the testing being carried out over an extended period to allow the change in temperature to be plotted over a period of some hours to ensure that it has reached steady state.
